French River Academie of Arts and Culture

Form & Fire is a relaxed, three-day introduction to pottery where you’ll get your hands messy and explore the basics of both hand building and wheel work. No experience needed—just come ready to play, create, and enjoy the feel of clay!

Led by experienced potter and artist Denise Pitre, this workshop offers a hands-on dive into the foundational techniques of working with clay. You’ll try your hand at both the pottery wheel and simple handbuilding methods, learning how to shape, smooth, and form your own unique pieces.

The course runs on July 23rd and 24th, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with a third session on July 31st from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM to return and glaze your creations.

Cost of course includes: instruction, clay, choice of glazes, and use of equipment and tools.

Attendees are encouraged to wear clothes they don’t mind getting a little messy!
